After a successful Pre-Season, with runs aplenty (200 for Scott Newman & 100s for Morgan Prior & Mark Barrell) we look in good shape to repeat last season’s success.

THIS WEEKEND’S FIXTURES

1^st XI v Hornsey (11:30am)

The 1^st XI start their defence of the League Championship at the Paulin Ground, against Hornsey- one of the few sides to take points off us last season, so a great contest is expected. Good luck to new Captain Jim Gatting, who welcomes new boys Menesh Gunalan and Ryan Corns into his ranks.

Hornsey v 2^nd XI (1pm)

In a quirk of the fixture list, the 2^nd XI also face Hornsey. Over 600 runs were shared between the sides during last weekends friendly, including 132* for new boy Simon Baker. Tim Royall takes reins of the 2^nd XI this season, good luck to him.

North London v 3^rd XI (1pm)

After a successful 2012 season Joe Wilkinson steps up to skipper the 3s this season, and takes his new troops to North London. Kiwi import Nick Simon makes his debut within a strong looking seam attack.

4^th XI v Osterley (1pm)

Andy Ward skippers his first competitive match as 4^th XI captain. A mix of promising colts, and experienced senior members will look to start the season with a win.

‘PURPLE’ RACE NIGHT

After the Cricket has finished we are hosting the first Colour Social of the season. This month’s theme is Purple. This event is combined with a Race Night, aimed at raising funds funds for the Cricket Section and the Colts U15 Tour.

The first race takes place at 8pm.

We have some great prizes up for grabs, including 2 tickets for the Ireland v England One Day International in Dublin on September 3^rd, plus One Night Accomodation. We also have 2 tickets for the Middlesex v Essex T20 at Lords on 4^th July.

• spruce up the clubhouse
• sign up for the 2013 season all at once

In 2013, we’re looking to defend our Middlesex League Crown as well as look to raise the performances of all sides. Weather providing, the nets will be open for you to have a quick net, but the priority is to make sure the club is ready for the battles on the field in the months to come.

Our new kit supplier Romida will be there on the day with examples of the new playing kit for you to try and buy.
